Job Summary

Pamlico Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and mission-minded High School Science Teacher to help students explore and better understand the world around them through science. This educator will encourage curiosity, thoughtful questions, and a love of learning while helping students build the knowledge and skills needed for future success in a Christ-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach engaging science lessons that help students understand scientific concepts and real-world applications.
  • Lead laboratory activities, experiments, and hands-on learning experiences that make science meaningful and memorable.
  • Encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and develop problem-solving skills.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, tests, and classroom participation, providing constructive feedback along the way.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Uphold and model the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively teach and engage middle and high school students.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for science and helping students succeed.
  • Prior teaching experience, ideally in middle or high school settings (preferred but not required).

Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 5 days per week (Approx. 35 hours per week); specific hours and class schedule will be determined in collaboration with Upper School Director.
  • Compensation is aligned with PCA’s full-time faculty scale.
