Job Summary

Pamlico Christian Academy is seeking a skilled and mission-aligned Part-Time Upper School Technology Teacher to equip 6th and 7th grade students with the knowledge and skills they need to engage with technology wisely and creatively. From digital literacy to problem-solving and foundational computer applications, this position blends technical instruction with Christian perspective, helping students grow as competent and ethical digital citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach engaging lessons on technology fundamentals, digital tools, internet safety, and computer applications.
  • Introduce students to problem-solving, digital responsibility, and essential tools they’ll use daily—including Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, school Gmail accounts, and Quickschools—preparing them for confident, purposeful tech use.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback with parents and administrations regarding student performance.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on potential cross-curricular tech integrations or school-wide digital initiatives.
  • Uphold and model the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with middle school students and teaching technology-related content, equipping students to be thoughtful and capable digital learners.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with educational technology platforms, digital tools, and safe internet practices.
  • Prior teaching experience, ideally in middle or high school settings (preferred but not required).

Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 3 days per week (Approx. 15-16 hours per week); specific hours and class schedule will be determined in collaboration with Upper School Director.  
  • Compensation is aligned with PCA’s part-time faculty scale.2
