Job Summary

Pamlico Christian Academy (PCA) is seeking a passionate, qualified, and mission-aligned Part-Time Spanish Teacherto join our Upper School faculty. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, spiritual development, and the integration of biblical truth in the classroom. This position provides instruction in Spanish language and culture for students in grades 8-9.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Teach beginner to intermediate levels of Spanish, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Develop lesson plans that align with PCA’s academic standards and Christian view.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of methods and tools.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and administration regarding student performance and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration on cross-curricular opportunities and school events.
  • Uphold and model the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Spanish and a demonstrated ability to teach middle and high school students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Previous teaching experience in a Christian school setting (preferred but not required).

Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 2 days per week (Approx. 15–16 hours); specific hours and class schedule will be determined in collaboration with Upper School Director.  
  • Compensation is aligned with PCA’s part-time faculty scale.
